Our History

Elite Reg has been trading non-stop since 1972 and has sold over a hundred thousand private number plates. We have some of the most experienced staff in the whole vehicle registration number industry, ensuring that every transfer of a new number plate is processed as efficiently as possible.

Trading began over 50 years ago with two private reg numbers, HTV 1 and 1 HTV, which were initially purchased as it was thought that the number plates may be of interest to the local independent television company HTV. However, although HTV declined to purchase these reg numbers, this marked the start of the buying and selling of private number plates by Elite Registrations. Since then, the vehicle registrations market has grown into the well-established, active number plate industry we have today. We were the first private number plate dealer to produce large-scale advertising campaigns for private registration numbers in the national press and many people believe that we were largely responsible for creating today's buoyant private number plate market.
